The collective agreement is a document that sets out the rights and obligations of university assistants and their employers. The GSA negotiates with the university on behalf of UCalgary Graduierten to ensure that the agreement is fair. The Industrial Relations Committee (LRC), chaired by GSA AVP Labour, represents and supports university graduates at the University of Calgary through education and advocacy. This is not limited to collective bargaining, the handling of disputes with employers and the requirement for a high level of employment for higher education graduates. lrc.gsa@ucalgary.ca To learn more about this agreement, please read the documentation at: Executive Order (EO) 13836, Developing Efficient, Effective, and Cost-Reducing Approaches to Federal Sector Collective Bargaining, signed by the President on May 25, 2018, requires agencies to submit any long-term collective agreement (CBA) and its expiry within 30 days of the CBA`s entry into force. EO 13836 also requires OPM to make these CBAs available to the public on the internet. This promotes transparency by allowing the public to consult the types of agreements between federal agencies and industry unions. Agencies are also required to submit arbitration awards to OPM within 10 business days of receipt. OPM has issued a memorandum on the publication of the CBA database, which contains guidelines on agency requirements for CBAs and arbitration awards. If you have questions about CBA filing and arbitration decisions, please contact OPM Accountability and Workforce Relations staff at l`LRG@opm.gov. If you have any questions about certain CBAs in this database, please contact the agency associated with the CBA. Information on representative data for all tariff units certified by the Federal Office of Labour Relations, including name, description, location, number of employees in the tariff unit and other information, is available in the federal information system for employment services.

If you are already a registered agency user, please log in to the CBA database to download your document. The payment plan for the ranks of assistants and degrees (Non-Teaching) is indicated in Schedule A of the collective agreement. The remuneration of a graduate assistant (teaching) and the assistant graduate (non-teaching) consists of two components: The Graduate Assistant (Teaching) is an appointment to support the tasks of teacher of the departments. Tasks related to this appointment may include teaching or teaching, conference support, laboratory follow-up, office hours, scoring tasks, the provision of a tutorial and support for the preparation of demonstration and teaching resources. See article 6.3 Compensation for all dates includes payment instead of leave. Talk to your course leader or researcher as quickly as possible, ideally at the beginning of the contract, if you subscribe to the “assistant assignment” form to discuss the schedules you might need to be away and how this can be accommodated. Typical accommodations often include hourly design or transportation of work (for example. B note) with you, but there is no need for the course director or research to have your time to do.
